Through a random series of events, Jake and I ended up with a $40 gift certificate to Life is Good’s online store. We figured we should both be able to get a little something for that amount, maybe a t-shirt for each of us. Well, t-shirts start at $25 and go up from there, so that was out. Then we thought, “maybe some pajama pants”…nope…they start at $30 and go up. Even if it’s not my money I’m spending, I still can’t make myself spend $30 for something I’m just going to laze around the house in or sleep in. Then we considered maybe a new hoodie for Jake. He’s been needing one. Surely $40 could buy a hoodie? Think again. Hoodies start at $60! Ahhh! It just doesn’t seem right to spend so much money on these things, and yet we have the credit that must be used. Somewhere in the middle of all of this, Jake got tired of looking at everything and then finding out how expensive it all is, and he walked away. So I bought these shorts and this travel mug (for $20 each!):

Once I actually made the purchase I didn’t feel so bad about it. In fact, now I can’t wait till my goodies come in the mail. I love getting mail that’s not just bills or credit card offers. Yay for packages!

I am sure you will enjoy your expensive free gifts.
Update: My goodies have arrived, and they are super cute! I still wouldn’t have spent my own money on them, but I’m excited to have them.
