As some of you know, I am in the middle of writing a research paper on “The Six Days of Creation.” This is the first of many incredibly long papers that I will have to write in order to earn the degree I am pursuing at NOBuTS. This paper is for my Research and Writing class, which is required for all students. I knew I was not going to enjoy the study of Kate Turabian’s book, and after having to write essay after essay, then top it all off with a 15 page paper and minimum of 15 resources has made my life miserable. I know this sounds easy to some of you, but for a guy like me who has never had to write more than 3 pages it’s killer! :-) Anyway, I had to choose a topic, so after little thought, I chose “Six Days of Creation: Figurative or Literal.” Going into this topic I was “sure” on my own opinion of the matter, but now that I am up to my neck in books, I cannot say what my answer is yet. I have discovered some interesting facts about an Old Earth theory and interesting facts on a Young Earth theory. I promise I will share my conclusion with ya’ll when I get there. (If I really get there!)
I know one thing for sure–God did it! Today I stumbled upon an email in my junk folder about a new movie that is coming out soon about Intelligent Design (meaning someone had to create us). This movie “Expelled” features Ben Stein and his effort to show how scientists who believe in “intelligent design” get ostracized from the scientific community. “Expelled” looks like it is going to be very interesting, if nothing else. I hope this film helps enlighten people on the fact that GOD DID IT! Whether or not we come to a conclusion on how God did it, we must agree that God set this world into motion to bring glory to Himself, and we as His creation are to bring glory to Him in the way we live our lives. So, go watch the trailer and let me know what you think about it all.
EDIT: Here you can watch the trailers.

Only 15 pages????? Big Baby!!! I’m not sure of Ben’s Movie. He can be raw at times, so take with caution. Good topic, I hope you can tackle it in 15 pages. If you need any help….ask your wife! HA!!!
Dave <
P.S. Your daughter is still up at 9:00!
Yeah I know Ben can be raw at times, but from what I have read it seem like he just tackles the fact that some Intelligence had to set things into motion, so we will see. That’s 15 pages I am going to make an “A” on! I could easy write 15 pages if I was just trying be your highest grade!! :-)
If you ever get our daughter potty-trained you can send her to us! :-)
Potty-training was supposed to be yall’s job!!!!!
BTW I was the only one in my Senior Seminar class to get an A for the class and my paper!!!! So good luck beating my highest grade “L-7 wennie!”
Play nice, boys. Play nice. :-)
Wow, harsh words boys! I am glad to actually see you doing your paper. Maybe you will finish it a few days before it’s due…hehe..I know better!
My bet is an Hour and a half before class!
My personal best for turning in a paper as close to class as possible is about 20 min. Good times, good times!
I am playing nice! I used a sandlot reference!! I figured Jake would like it!!! Sarah says HI! She’s watching Sponge Bob and eating lunch. She says she’s coming to your house today. Gotta love being 2 with no concept of distance!
I am confused. Ben Stein’s movie is, reportedly, on the subject of “Intelligent Design”. Intelligent Design proponents, however, have insisted that “Intelligent Design” appeals to and relies upon no deities, including the Christian “God”. In fact, Michael Behe, when defending the teaching of “Intelligent Design” in government-run schools, testified under oath in a court of law that “Intelligent Design” does not appeal to any “God” at all. Why, then, do so many people believe that his movie relates to a “God”, or even a specific God such as the Judeo-Christian deity? Do these advocates of the movie not understand Intelligent Design, or did Michael Behe — an expert witness for the Intelligent Design proponents who were sued in Kitzmiller v. Dover — commit an act of perjury?
I haven’t seen the movie, so I don’t know how it will present “Intelligent Design” or whether or not it will insinuate that a god of any sort was involved.I do know, however, that I believe our world is here because of THE God–our loving creator. I don’t claim to know all the ins and outs of all the theorys. I just know what I believe to be true, based on the truth I find in Scripture.
Thanks for reading and taking the time to respond, though. It’s definitely a topic worth studying and discussing. I appreciate your comments!
