This was the second 5k race I’ve participated in, and Jennie and I had one goal going into it–finish in 35 minutes. I know, that’s not exactly breaking the sound barrier, but for us, it was a good goal. Well, I don’t know if it had to do with the fact that we’re in pretty amazing shape these days, or if it was more of us trying to keep up with Candace (most likely the latter), but we finished in 30:14!!! Pretty amazing for us. We were extremely excited. It was also a fun race because there was a whole group of us participating. Both of our moms walked the race, and we along with Candace, Amanda, and Julie ran the race. It was a lot of fun. Please enjoy a few of the pictures below:

Here we are just starting out.

About halfway through…notice that we are trailing behind Candace. It was like that the whole race. Thanks for keeping us going, Candace!

And here we are finishing…in record time for us!
Also, special thanks to Jake for being the photographer for the day. I think he got some pretty good shots.

Who ever took those pictures is pretty good at what he does!
The best part is the last picture because ya’ll where no where near Candace at the end! And that’s why she is not in that pic! :-)
Yeah, she pretty much left us in the dust at the end. But that’s okay. I’d have done the same thing if I were her. :-)
Ok I sooo wanna do a race with yall. It looked like so much fun!!!
Yeah, I am grinning while reading this blog. I was so excited about our time!! If Candace will run every race with us, we may break our record each time! I noticed she kept glancing back to make sure we were still there…sure glad she kept us going! Will you guys let me get copies of these pictures when you are home?
I think Jake is going to set it up so you can download all the race pictures. There are a bunch more, I just didn’t put them all up on the blog. Jake will probably email you a link when he gets them uploaded.
These are great pics, Mr. Photographer! But where are the ones I was promised?
Run Forrest, Run!!!
It’s a good thing I wasn’t running. Wait, Run? That doesn’t involve carrying a drumstick in each hand does it? One fried and one ice cream! UMMM Food!
Good job guys!!!! You too camera boy!
Dave
I just googled the race results and guess what I saw…
