Goooooooaaaaallllllll!!!!!!

I want you to imagine that sounding like that announcer guy who calls soccer games and gets really excited when a goal is scored.  Because that’s how I feel right now.  I’ve finally reached my goal!  For those of you who don’t know, I started this weight loss journey (or at least I really committed to it) in January.  I set my weight goal at 135.  I really thought there was no way I’d ever reach 135 (I’ve never weighed less than 150 in all my teenage and adult life), but that was the median recommended weight for my age and height.  So I figured, what the heck, I’ll give it a shot.  Well, 6 months later, I stepped on the scale this morning and saw the numbers…134.5.  So I stepped off and back on again…still 134.5.  So then just to make sure, I stepped off and back on again about 5 more times…134.5 every time.  I couldn’t believe it.  I actually made it!  That’s a total loss of 30 pounds since January 2008, and 50 pounds since January 2007 (I started and stopped a lot in 2007).  Woohoo!  This is a really big deal for me.  I’ve never been this healthy (or this small) or felt this good in my entire life.  I think the last time I saw the 130s was probably like 5th grade when the rest of my friends were in the 90s.  :-)  Ok, I won’t bother you any more with this, I was just so excited I had to share.  Now I can finally go buy clothes again and try to rebuild what is currently a very lacking and pitiful wardrobe.  :-)  (If I can scrape up the money, that is…thrift stores, here I come!)

WOW!!!!! I am sooooo proud of you. What more can I say?
Remember your birthday isn’t too far away!

  2. Diana

Mama, it won’t be long till you’ll be saying the same thing. :-)

  3. Jennie

Congrats! I am so proud of you Diana! You definitely deserve to treat yourself. So awesome!!!

  4. Dave

This is a good place to place my 50th quote! I would have put it on Mikayla’s post, but that’s all about her and God!

Congats! Like I said Sun. It’s really because you and Jake are at Seminary and don’t have $$$ to buy food. No money, No food, No weight!!!! Did I mention this was my 50th quote???? Anyway, Em says she’s jealous, but she is continuing to loose weight every week. If she (me too) would exercise regularly, she’s loose even more. But with 3 kids, a crazy family, and some guy who plays 360 all day, well, you know the rest! But Hey, since May, we’ve both lost over 10 lbs. We’re on our way! (Of course If I weighed 134.5, that would be a ticket straight to UAB!) :)

Again, Em and I are proud of you. Of course we know that when you set your mind on something, it usually happens! 50 pounds and 50 posts, 2 great milestones to reach! :)
    Now go get some beignets!!

  5. Jake

I told diana we would go celebrate at a Chinese buffet! :-)

Dave I am proud of you accomplishment of 50 comments!! Thanks for making us feel important! Jennie doesn’t have chance of catching up with you.

  6. Diana

Thanks, Dave & Emily! Actually the no money issue has made it harder. Healthy food is more expensive, unfortunately. But we’ve just tried to stick to the cheapest stuff we can find, while still making sure it’s healthy. Difficult, but doable.

Sounds like ya’ll are off to a great start, too. It took me 27 weeks to lose that 30 pounds, which averages out to 1.11111111…pounds a week (you can check my math). So it’s definitely slow-going, but it’s better to be slowly losing that slowly gaining, right? Keep it up…by Christmas you’ll both be in great shape. And then you can send out Christmas pictures with your Christmas cards to show off your accomplishment. (By the way, I can already tell that both of you have lost weight, just so you know.)

Don’t eat too much there, or you’ll get:

“Hey, you been here 4 hour, you leave now!”
“You eat like killa whale!, No food! You eat all!”
“Go home! No food on buffet! Leave now!”
    (Read in crazy Chinese accent!)

Dave, Congrats on your 50th(now 51) comment. I gave up a long time ago trying to catch up with your comment numbers:) I am so proud of you and Em for your weight loose. It took me a long time to reach my goal but just stay consistent. You will soon be celebrating too!
Jake, we do not reward ourselves with food! Haven’t you learned anything!!! LOL

Yada Yada yada…. Im jealous! I can’t brag about losing weight! I have to learn how to eat first. But that will change soon because I am joining WW with a friend and my goal too is 135. I think im around 158 right now so 135 would be GREAT for me! I can’t wait to be able to tell yall that I have lost weight too! I also can’t wait for the next race that michael was tlaking about in Jennie’s blog. I want to do it. When is it Jennie? Also did you find out anything else about the night run at UWF? Well I am so happy for you DIANA!! You look great! Now you need to let someone take pics of you for a change!!:)

  10. Jake

Um…Theda first off you avatar looks familiar. Secondly this is NOT jennies blog so why are you asking questions here? :-) And there will defiantly pics of Diana soon, I have to learn to do more than stand around and carry things for her.

  11. Jennie

I think the new member of my church wold be willing to take “after” pictures of Diana! I will ask…maybe she will do it for free!!! Then you could have professional quality…sorry Jake:)

  12. Jake

Um..Jen the point is I am going to be a freakin professional, just like at everything else I do, it will be the best! :-)

  13. Stephanie Wright

YAY! Congrats, girl!! Once this baby gets out of me, I have a goal of getting back to my high school weight- which was a totally healthy weight and would keep me in a lot of clothes I still have (how sad is that?) HA! I also told Travis tonight that I am going to do a 10K up here in Raleigh sometime after Sam gets here- I did the Crescent City Classic in 2007 and loved it. I think doing one up here and adding hills in would do me some good and would be a great challenge!!! Anyway, congrats again!!!

  14. Diana

Thanks, Stephanie! I love the way you say “once this baby gets out of me” like, “come on, Sam…” :-) Go for the 10k! I’ve never done one, but I’d like to. It would definitely be a challenge for me!

  15. Theda

Well Jake, I figures since I was already here and talking I might as well add a little something to Jennie in there. She reads it too! :)~ And your right…. my avatar does look familiar huh? Dont know why thou… this amazingly AWESOME photographer took it for me! Cool huh?

  16. jennie

Jake, I don’t know that you are capable of reaching a professional lever…LOL
