As many of you know, I am white and I love me some rap music! I have liked rap music for a long time now, but while we were working at FBC Flomaton, I received a Flame CD in an Interlink box. After listening to it and really paying attention to the lyrics I was blown away. Flame was with the Cross Movement and he had a track that Featured LeCrea of Reach Records. We purchased LeCrae’s CD After the Music Stops and not only were his lyrics off the chain, his beats were really good also! Since then I have collected a couple of Flame’s CDs, Lecrea’s, Trip Lee’s, and last night I added to my collection Sho Baraka’s cd.
Last night we went to the Unashamed Tour, and it was awesome! The guys of Reach Records are just flat out amazing. Their lyrics are packed with so much scripture and doctrine, you hear something new every time you listen. Throughout the entire concert, they continued to share the Gospel and it was so evident that the reason they were sharing their music was to share the word of God with the people who listen. There has been no other band that I have found that has such a heart for ministry and wanting their listeners to grow up in Christ. At the end of the show, LeCrae really broke down the Gospel and it was one of the best presentations of the Gospel we have heard in a long time. He took us from creation to the original sin of Adam to the Cross of Christ and made it seem to come to life in a very relevant way. LeCrae really was able to hold the audience captive. Overall it was just amazing. If you ever get a chance to see these guys, drop everything and get to a show. Also, if you want the best rap music you can buy I recommend any of these guys–they are top notch!! Buy a CD and sit down and listen to the lyrics. I think you’ll be impressed.
Also, Reach Life Ministries is soon to be releasing curriculum that goes with the 13 Letters CD that they produced. The CD goes through the 13 letters that Paul wrote! Can you believe that? A CD that goes through scripture!
The video posted below is Jesus Music. We recorded a little of it last night because it’s one of my Dad’s favorite songs. (That’s a whole different story.)

Let me just add that the “shake” going on in the video is not from my unsteady hands. The concert was held on the second floor of a building, and when everybody started jumping, the floor started “bouncing” for lack of a better word. I kept waiting for us all to fall through. It was a little unnerving…
Also, it was dark in the room, and the video was taken on our Sony point & shoot camera, NOT a video camera, which is why it’s so dark and not very good quality. But you get the idea of what was going on, anyway. It was a really awesome concert.
Sounds like an awesome concert…dad will be so jealous!
Congratulations Jen! You have surpassed Dave with comments!!!
How exciting! I am sure he will add plenty of comments and take back control…LOL
Here’s one! Being at children’s camp with Em in control of the lap-top, I’ve just now been able to get on your site!
White boy and Rap….. Isn’t that an oxymoron?
There stuff is pretty cool, but I’m from more of the rock generation.
Petra or Stryper anyone?????? :)
Sorry, “Their”
My first “rock” concert was Petra! I experienced my first mosh pit at their concert and I have never been the same since. Dave, I am afraid that Jake and Diana might be too young to know who Petra or Stryper are…I guess we are getting old:(
…no, not too young to know who they are. I remembering hearing them on the radio. But we are definitely to young to have been big fans. By the time I was old enough to remember them on the radio, they were already the “old guys.” Of course, I was a big Newsboys fan, and they are most definitely the “old guys” now. :-) (I don’t know if their coolness has aged as gracefully as Petra either.)
