For those of you who don’t know (or forgot to call…sheesh…), yesterday was my birthday. Yay, me! In addition to a beautiful necklace from my husband (which I received two days early, much to Jennie’s disapproval…pictures to come), a couple of texts and phone calls from friends and family, some Mary Kay, chocolate, and iTunes love from my sister-in-law, and an AMAZING strawberry cake from Laura at work, I also participated in the following conversation with my boss, which I found to be humorous:
Boss: Well, happy birthday, Diana. So, how many more years till the big 3-0?
Me: Oh, still another 6 years. This is just my 24th.
Boss (in a raised, high pitched, astonished sort of voice): Good grief, how old were you when we hired you?!
Me: 22, I guess.
Boss (still astonished, but the pitch has come down a little): I can’t believe we hired such a puppy!!!
Hilarious on so many levels. At least to me. Glad he didn’t pay too much attention to the resume or application that clearly stated I was born in 1984. I may not be in this job today.
P.S. – I’ll be leaving for the aforementioned Women’s Retreat in about t-minus 45 minutes. Stay tuned for a full report upon my return.
HAHA! Love the conversation! I can so hear that one happening! I am assuming it was Dr. O? I remember Dr. T making some comment to me about getting rid of an “old” lady and hiring a “spring chicken” which made me laugh.

That is so funny! How old did he think I was? I was 22 when I started working there! Oh well! Happy Birthday! I always thought it was funny when the students found out how old I was. Alot of them had kids that were older than me.
