We’ve spent the last two nights in our new house. Our apartment on campus is empty, except for the fridge (which we will empty tonight), and we turn in our keys tonight. So ready or not, we’re in the house. The kitchen floors are finished (hooray!), and we’ll be able to walk on them tomorrow after 10:00 am, which means we’ll be able to finally get to our bedroom. Still no water in the house until the bathroom is redone, so we’ll continue going down to the apartment below us to use the bathroom and take showers. And wash dishes, I guess? Lola’s heartworm test was clear yesterday, they spayed her today, and we get to go pick her up tomorrow. We are SUPER excited! She has to be the sweetest most beautiful dog I’ve ever met, and of course I’m not partial or anything. You will most certainly be seeing pictures of her soon.
We are hoping for lots of trick-or-treaters tonight. We’d really like to get to know more of the kids in the neighborhood, so we’ve stocked up on the deluxe variety of halloween candy. I’m talking Twix, Hershey’s, Kit-Kat’s…the good stuff. None of that cheap stuff with the hard candy and weird chewy peanut butter candy in black and orange wrappers and the strange crispy peanut butter candy in the clear striped wrappers. Not at our house.
So happy Halloween to all of you. And may it be filled with GOOD (read: chocolate) candy. :-)

Are you guys handing out Reformation Day literature???? Is Jake dressed as Martin Luther complete with “Monk Hair” and robes Diana can dress in period clothes as Mrs. Luther. Do you think that would offend some people in Catholic held NOLA???? I think that would have been fun!
The Girls got lots of candy (both chocolate and other) at our friend’s church tonight. Sarah was “Cinderella” and Mikayla was a Cowgirl in her big pink cowgirl hat. We didn’t have an outfit for Kirsten, so I found a Camo dress, put her in it, and I wore my camo shirt and hat! Sorry, I had to be a little Alabama Redneck here in GA. I was not the only one in Camo though. There were two other guys in shirts. Have a great one and enjoy the house!
i just want to say that i LOVE the peanut butter candy in the clear striped plastic wrapping. i LOVE it. you shouldn’t dis it like that…
