Ok, this blog every day thing is killing me. It’s 9:08, I’m sleepy, and yet I’m compelled, nay obligated, to sit here and type a blog. Not only that, but all of you expect it to either have pictures, or be interesting, or funny, or at least have a few well thought out, tongue-in-cheek remarks here and there. I’m here to tell you that despite what you may think, these blogs don’t just come pouring out of me. They take time. They take thought. And very often they take provocation.
I could go off about my recent, frustrating encounters with the campus police. I have been provoked. And it would undoubtedly be an entertaining read. But the seminary “family” is a frighteningly closely linked and small one, and there’s no telling who might just stumble across this blog through links from a friend of a friend of a facebook-friend. So I’ll just leave that one alone.
I could tell you about the really fun thing Jenny, Shannon, and I are planning. You would be interested, for sure. But my mom reads this blog, and I’m not sure she would approve (I love you, Mom! And I promise I’ll tell you about it….later.) I’m pretty sure Jesus is okay with it, though, so don’t be too worried.
I could tell you about how we FINALLY have a bathroom. But then I would be lying.
So I’ll just tell you that we have a wonderful friend who surprised us with the Fiction Family CD this morning. We were totally caught off guard, and are so blown away by the thoughtfulness and generosity of that act. I want to be more like that. I want to see a need, or even a desire, in someone’s life and just meet it, for no particular reason. Too often, I’m way too caught up in my own life with its demands to even notice what’s going on around me. I’m trying to let go and let God change that instinct in me. So to our friend…you know who you are…thank you not only for the CD, but for the example. We love you. (everyone now…aaawwwwww….) ;-)

One of these mornings, I’m going to surprise you with 3 kids, then we’ll see if there’s any aaawwwwww moments from you two!!!! :)
I don’t care what your blogs are about, I just enjoy keeping up with you guys. You could post “Jake’s got exams, and I’m dealing with Profs.” That would be just fine with me! It would trigger a Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome flashback, but it lets me & Em know what’s going on! Love you guys!
Hehe…seminary police…you know my uncle is one of the police officers…just kidding. =)
We have a few funny seminary police stories too. There is one guy on the seminary police – Brent called him the golf cart nazi! He was ridiculous!
By-the-way, when do you guys get your dog – Sam? What type of dog is he?
Did you ever sell your camera? :)
Sam is set to arrive next weekend! Yay! Camera is still not sold. I need to put it on ebay, but I just haven’t done it yet.
This is your mom you are going to get in trouble if you don’t call or email me what you are going to do!!!!!
Love mom
Remember I will have Sam tomorrow. I will use him to get back some how. ha ha
