At the end of January I won a giveaway on my friend Hannah‘s blog. The rule was that if you won, you had to then have a giveaway on your own blog. I have since been in defiance of the rules, stubborn malcontent that I am. But here’s the deal—the giveaway has to be something homemade. Hannah knits. Quite well, I might add. I won a scarf. But when I tried to come up with something homemade that I could give away, that you people might actually get excited about…well, needless to say, that’s where things came to a screeching halt. I don’t really do the homemade thing all that well. I mean, I make stuff for myself because I’m cheap, but it’s not really anything worth bragging about or offering up as a prize. I just do well enough to get by. I do make a darn good chocolate chip cookie. But those won’t ship well, and much of our blog-readership is out of state. Sooooo…..here’s all I’ve got: I take pictures and kinda do design-ish type things, and Jake builds websites. The closest thing to homemade that I’ve got that is worth offering is this:

That’s kinda homemade, right? I mean, we’ll design and implement the blog in our home. Or I’ll take the pictures with my personal camera and then edit them in my home. It counts….I think. So anyway, there you go. In order to win, just leave a comment on this post. You should also tell us why you deserve to win…not that it’ll help your chances at all, but it will make the comments more interesting. :-) We’ll draw a winner at random this Friday, February 20. My goodness, where do I start. I think the most important reason WE should win (It would be a family thing) is that we have your child. I know you guys have Sam, but he is but a poor imitation for Sarah Grace. (I could blackmail you guys and not let you see her this summer, but that would be too cruel, for us too!!!)
The next reason we should win is the number 140. 140!!!!!!!! That’s 60 more posts than the next person. There were a few double posts, but most were pre-twitter to answer questions.
Reason #3: You yourselves said we needed a “Pierce Family Blog” What a great way for us to get started than for Jake, THE Webmaster, to create one for us. We’ve already had the Professional Photographer take wonderful pictures of our family, so a blog is all we need (Flattery will get you everywhere!).
#4: Who else would keep Jake up-to-date on the latest Soccer news from around the world. From the FA Cup to the latest Becks drama, I fill him in on the details! BTW, MLS starts March 19th, DC U and Seattle.

I don’t deserve to win… but I would like to. Here is what I think will give me the advantage. I have a beautiful wife and daughter and they both look great in photos as well as in real life. (I married way above my level) However, I am the most unphotogenic person in the world. I just don’t smile at the right time. I close my eyes at the wrong time, etc… So then we really don’t nave any great posed family photos.
I think when the moment of truth comes and my name is randomly drawn, by instinct your mind will direct your hand in such a way as to find the paper that had my name on it because you know…”here is a guy that is unphotogenic and has a beautiful wife and daughter. Because of this he doesn’t have many great family photos. I cannot correct every wrong in the world, but I can correct this one.”

I’m definitely not entering myself in the giveaway, because I’m already behind on making the gifts for the winners of mine. (Sorry Diana!) I would expect your scarf to be in the mail by this Saturday though, here’s hoping it’s cold enough to wear it at least once before the dreaded summer sets in.

I don’t think I have any reasons why I deserve to win but I really, really, really want some beach pictures of the kids this summer. It would have to be summer because Carson had her hair cut and the person cut it WAY too short. It is just not cute. I had to use a curling iron this morning just so she looked OK for school. That is a ridiculous thing to have to do for a six year old at 6:30 in the morning.
There are so many reasons why I should win…
