I’m so excited that today is Friday. Knowing that I don’t have to get up and go to work in the morning makes me happier than I know how to describe.
My friend, and former co-worker, Jacque stopped by the office today just to remind me how much I miss her, I think. And how jealous I am of her life beyond the seminary desk job. *sigh* Patience I suppose. She worked there for like 3 or 4 years, I think, and I’ve only put in a little over a year and half. So I guess I owe a little more of my life to them. On a side note, Sam is asleep in my lap now, and he’s absolutely adorable. Just thought I’d share that. But back to Jacque’s visit…I love when you see people that you haven’t seen in a while and you get to have those “you remember that time when…” conversations. Those are the best. Life’s funny when it happens. But it’s even funnier a year or so later when you look back on it. Like when we tried to devise a scheme to convince our bosses to buy one of the most expensive (but oh so delicious, from what I hear) king cakes in the city. It almost worked, too. We ended up with a more reasonably priced cake from the bakery down the street. Or when I accidentally (through a horrible mail merge disaster) notified every single one of our 250-some-odd students that they had been placed on inactive status and wouldn’t be taking classes for an entire year. Good job, Diana. (We didn’t actually reminisce about that one today, but it would have been funny if we had.) Things are just funnier after the fact.
So anyway, thanks for stopping by, Jacque. You made my day. :-) And you reminded me that there is in fact life after the seminary desk job. Praise the Lord.

How is Sam? Are the puppy pads working?
I can’t wait to meet him.
Awww… Thanks Diana! I really enjoyed spending some time with you yesterday. I miss spending most of my days sitting next to you. Thanks for letting me come visit and feel like we had never skipped a beat.
And I also wanted to tell you, that I got to visit Martha and she had the Lorettas king cake and I got to eat some and it is the best I’ve ever had. She told me that the price has been lowered to around $20 dollars. Of course!
Love you and miss you!
yes there is life after seminary and it’s fabulous- i once said something about it on facebook and Dr. Rowell told me it was fabulous, so I thought I would pass along the sentiment!! :)
but i also miss seminary “days” in SOME ways – not all!! hahahahaha!!!
