We took this picture on Sunday before heading out to Moyeville where Jake was preaching. When he’s preaching at another church, I feel the need to put forth a little more effort to try to look like what they will probably expect out of a “preacher’s wife.” So since I had gotten all gussied up and everything, it seemed like an appropriate time for a picture.
Pregnancy Updates:
-Noah’s movements are getting a lot stronger. He hasn’t hurt me yet, but he definitely catches me off guard sometimes.
-I’ve had some exhaustion and breathlessness the whole pregnancy, but that’s also getting steadily worse. Walking up the stairs into our apartment often requires me having to stop and catch my breath at the end, which pretty much makes me feel like a wuss.
-Since my doctor made such a huge deal about my weight gain at my last appointment, I’ve made it my goal not to gain any weight before the next appointment (since I was ahead of the game and all). So far, so good.
-I’m really starting to deal with back/hip pain on a daily basis. It’s not debilitating pain, just more of a constant nuisance. In searching the World Wide Web for ways to ease the pain, I came across this:

Best I can tell, this is what is referred to by yoga-buffs (a group which I am not nearly cool enough to be a part of) as “Child’s Pose” or “Extended Child’s Pose.” All I know is that this is the most amazing stretch to relieve back and hip pain that I have found. Granted, we pregnant women have to spread our knees apart to make room for the belly, but I couldn’t find a picture of a pregnant woman doing this pose, and I wasn’t ABOUT to put a picture of me doing it on here. But this stretch has been a life-saver. The only problem is that anytime anyone decides to get down on the floor, Sam feels the need to inspect. His method of inspecting usually involves ravenously licking the face and ears, so that sorta kills the relaxation part of it all.
I have my next doctor’s appointment next week, and then after that I’ll have to go every 2 weeks. I can’t believe how quickly things are moving along, and at the same time it feels like Noah’s never going to get here. I’m just trying to take it one day at a time for now. :-)

You look so pretty! I kinda laughed when you said you were about to post a picture of you doing the stretch. I can totally hear you saying it! haha!
You look so cute Diana! I am so excited that you can feel Noah move! I have already started to have back pain a little so I will have to try that move. And if you have gained too much weight, my Dr. is going to have a cow when I see her Friday!!
Marianne – I miss being around you so much!!! :-)
Jennie – Definitely try it. Just be sure to spread your knees wide enough not to put pressure on your stomach. It relieves so much tension!
I love you two girls.Noah and baby Gartman
Mom, Did you just call Noah a girl?
