For the last 53 days, Jake’s been saying, “I have to go surfing today before the oil gets here! This is probably the last day I’ll be able to go!” …almost every day. Needless to say, he’s gotten in a lot more surfing over the last couple of months than he had originally planned on. I don’t mind, though. I love the beach, and I definitely want him to get our money’s worth out of that brand new long board. Here are a few shots from last Friday (notice the t-shirt & hat? Definitely don’t want this to happen again):

Here’s a fun little series. Jake said he was walking down to ride the nose, and took one step too many (you’ll notice him walking right off the front of the board in the picture on the far right). :-)

Although we didn’t see any sign of oil that day, the coast guard was out surveying the beaches and checking for tar balls.

And, I suppose this is as good a post as any to introduce you to our new car. We decided to skip the mom vehicle and jump straight to the grandma car. :-) In all seriousness, we’ve been needing to retire the Corolla for a while now, but haven’t been able to afford taking on a car payment. And anything we could afford would be just another old car like we currently have. A pointless purchase. This not-so-little gem just kinda came up out of nowhere, and it was an AMAZING deal. Complete with automatic everything and leather seats. Oh, yeah. :-) So we bought it. Doesn’t it look awesome with a surfboard on top?

you’ve been a bloggin fool recently. i’m glad to see that jake has been getting so much surfing in :) and yes the car does look cooler with a surfboard on top!
geez… you can just skip the minivan, right??? LOVE the surfboard on top!!
